Meet Dr Adrian Clegg (Chiropractor)
A Passion for Health and Wellness
Dr. Adrian Clegg is a Chiropractor and Clinical Nutritionist with over 20 years’ experience working as a clinician in private practice. His passion for health and wellness started at an early age as an elite level triathlete. Shortly after graduating as a Chiropractor in 2001, Dr. Clegg fulfilled a dream to compete as a professional in the European Ironman Triathlon Championships in Roth, Germany. Upon returning to Sydney in early 2002, he was struck by a car on a motorway while cycling. The extensive nature of his injuries left him in a wheelchair for months, recovering from a broken pelvis, shoulder, ribs, and a case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Through chiropractic care and his tenacity, he returned to competing in triathlons as an age group athlete.
“Not long after the accident I started to develop depression, anxiety, fatigue, and digestive problems.” I was reluctant to take medication, so I knew I needed to find another way to manage my PTSD and numerous health problems. In practice, I also noticed that many of my patients had multiple chronic conditions like musculoskeletal pain, depression, diabetes, blood pressure problems, stubborn weight gain, thyroid problems, digestive complaints—the list seemed endless.
It was the injuries sustained and resulting PTSD that led Dr. Clegg to branch out into Functional Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. In 2008 he opened Opus Healthcare, a Chiropractic and Clinical Nutrition clinic on York St in Sydney’s CBD. It was around 2014 that I learned of Dr. Kalish and The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).
It was the combination of my own personal experience and witnessing my patient’s health struggles that brought me to my next chapter in practice, studying Functional Medicine and Clinical Nutrition.
“I feel blessed for discovering Functional Medicine, which combined with Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic has made a huge impact on my health and my aim is to help as many people as possible to regain their health and get back to what they love doing.”
